Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant in a school-based environment near New Berlin, WI. Beginning in late August and extending through June, this contract position allows you to make a positive impact on the communication development of children from early childhood through middle school.
You’ll enjoy working a stable, weekday schedule—Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm—providing direct support and therapeutic interventions to a manageable caseload of around 25 students (with three students potentially being dismissed during the assignment). This age-diverse group spans from 3-year-olds to 8th graders, offering a dynamic range of experiences.
Qualifications:
- Valid DPI License—1820 Speech and Language Pathology Assistant certification required
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric clients highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with students, families, and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Organized and detail-oriented documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans and communication strategies designed by supervising SLP
- Deliver individual and small group sessions to support speech, language, and communication goals
- Track and document student progress and consult regularly with the SLP and educational staff
- Engage with parents and teachers to foster a supportive learning environment
- Adapt to the needs of a diverse caseload, from early learners to pre-teens
