A dynamic opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students across two K-12 school sites in Escondido, CA. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 5, 2026, offering approximately 32.5 hours per week, with a split assignment between two schools serving diverse student populations.
Assignment Sites and Caseload:
- French Valley Elementary School
- Margarita Middle School
Both locations manage caseloads that include students with moderate to severe autism, Resource Specialist Program (RSP), and Special Day Classes (SDC). Experienced Speech-Language Pathologists are present on-site to provide support and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist SLPs in implementing speech and language therapy plans for students with a range of communication needs.
- Support students within RSP and SDC settings, focusing on developing communication skills tailored to individual abilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in line with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to promote student success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant credential/license as required by state regulations.
- Experience working with school-age children, particularly in special education settings, is highly desired.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team of education and therapy professionals.
Work Schedule:
- 32.5 hours per week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
