Step into a rewarding school-based contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This role is based on-site and centers on serving secondary-aged learners in a positive, collaborative environment.
Key Details:
- Full-time schedule (37.5 hours/week), with some flexibility for part-time availability (roughly 30 hours/week)
- Assignment is primarily at a single school, with occasional short-term support at a second nearby campus as needed
- School/worksite placement is thoughtfully determined with your commute in mind
- Service students in middle and high school, managing an average caseload of 80-90—caseload size will be matched to your experience and comfort level
- The position requires on-site work throughout the school year, aligned with the following dates: August 11, 2026 – May 26, 2027
Qualifications:
- Current, valid SLPA license
- Experience with secondary (middle/HS) student populations preferred
- Prior background working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices is a strong asset
- Must meet state requirements for fingerprinting and background checks
- Candidates must disclose if they have ever been employed with this district before, and whether they have ever been terminated from any school district (affidavit required)
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language interventions as directed by supervising SLPs in school settings
- Support students using AAC devices and other assistive technologies
- Track and document student progress, collaborating with educators and team members
- Communicate regularly with supervising staff regarding student needs and successes
