School-Based Speech Therapist Assistant - Kingwood, Texas
An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support elementary-aged students in the Houston area. This contract position offers a dynamic itinerant role working across two schools, with the possibility of adding a third location. The assignment begins in April 2026 and runs through May 2026, providing full-time hours Monday through Friday.
Location:
Kingwood, TX (serving two elementary schools in Conroe, TX area)
Duration:
April 10, 2026 – May 22, 2026
Schedule:
Full-time, 35 hours per week across five days
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language support services to elementary school students at multiple campuses
- Collaborate with the school speech-language pathologists and educational staff to implement individualized plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs in an educational setting
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as required
- ASHA SLPA certification preferred
- Ability to obtain TEA fingerprints and meet credentialing requirements promptly
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in school settings preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
