Speech Therapy Assistant - La Quinta, CA

This contract opportunity is ideal for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) ready to focus on PreK populations, including students with mild to moderate needs and some requiring AAC device support. You’ll make a meaningful impact each day assisting certified SLPs and collaborating with teachers and staff in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and current SLPA licensure required
- Certificate of Clearance (COC) must be obtained before start
- Strongly prefer bilingual Spanish speakers to meet the community’s needs
- Prior experience in school settings, especially PreK, highly valued
- Open to itinerant positions—flexibility in serving multiple sites
- Capable of working onsite throughout the school year (remote not available at this time)
- Enthusiastic about working with AAC devices and a variety of communication needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support SLPs with therapy sessions, material preparation, and caseload management
- Work directly with PreK students, addressing needs ranging from mild-moderate to some severe cases
- Document student progress and track outcomes efficiently
- Foster a nurturing, engaging environment for all students
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educational teams to maximize student success
