Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid SLPA license for the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
- Strong understanding of speech and language developmental milestones
- Ability to implement therapy plans developed by supervising Speech-Language Pathologists
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative approach, with a passion for helping students succeed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, one-on-one or small group therapy sessions to students under the supervision of an SLP
- Assist in developing materials and modifying activities for speech and language goals
- Maintain accurate records on student progress and session outcomes
- Participate in team meetings and work closely with teachers, families, and other support staff
- Support the assessment and evaluation process as directed
- Help create a positive and encouraging learning environment
