Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Position Summary:
The SLPA works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with speech and language disorders. This role helps implement therapy plans, track progress, and assist in delivering services in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech therapy services to students per IEP goals
Implement treatment plans created by the supervising SLP
Assist with speech/language screenings and assessments
Collect data and document student progress
Support IEP development and progress reporting
Prepare therapy materials and organize sessions
Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Maintain therapy schedules and compliance documentation
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
SLPA license/certification (state-specific)
Completion of supervised clinical hours
Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow treatment plans and work under supervision
Organization and documentation accuracy
Patience and ability to work with diverse student needs
Work Environment:
School-based (PreK–12)
Works closely with SLPs, teachers, and special education teams
May support students with speech, language, and communication disorders
Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in line with district and state guidelines.
