Qualifications:
- Degree in Communications, Speech Language, or a related field is required.
- SLPA-specific licensure is not necessary within VA, but a strong background in speech or communication disorders is essential.
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings is highly valued.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with school teams.
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside a dynamic team of educators to deliver direct speech-language support services to students.
- Implement interventions determined by supervising Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Track and document student progress, contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Engage in team meetings and help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with educators, specialists, and families to support each child’s journey.
