This position is designed for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027. Work alongside a supportive team for 35 hours each week (7 hours per day), offering your expertise and care to help students reach their communication goals.
Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Bachelor’s degree (at minimum) in Communications or Speech-Language Pathology, or a related major in Speech or Communication Disorders
- Strong desire to collaborate with school staff and serve diverse student needs
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a structured school environment
- Must meet qualification requirements; SLPA license is not needed in Virginia at this time
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collect data and maintain detailed records of student progress
- Prepare engaging materials and activities tailored to each student’s communication objectives
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to ensure cohesive support
