Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Chesapeake, VA
Make a meaningful impact by supporting students' communication growth across multiple school sites as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. Based in the vibrant Chesapeake and Virginia Beach areas, this full-time contract opportunity offers the rewarding chance to work with K-12 learners for the 2026-2027 school year.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced Speech-Language Pathologists, educators, and other professionals to help deliver individualized therapy and interventions. Each day brings new opportunities to foster positive change in students’ lives throughout Chesapeake, Isle of Wight County, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Southampton County, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia (VA) Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) license required
- Experience supporting speech and language services in school settings preferred
- Ability to work with students across K-12 grades
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Team-oriented mindset and commitment to student success
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Support implementation of IEP goals and monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate therapy records and assist with documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Serve a diverse caseload by rotating among assigned schools and locations
- Adapt to varying educational needs for students at different developmental stages
