This contract opportunity provides hands-on experience across multiple school settings, empowering learners from diverse backgrounds. Work onsite only—remote options are not available. Assignments include one day per week each at both an elementary K-8 and a high school, offering great variety in daily responsibilities.
Preferred candidates will have:
- An active Florida Department of Health SLPA license
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred, though not required
- Availability for part-time work, 2 days per week, through June 1, 2026
- Flexibility to travel between two school locations: Hector A Cafferata Jr K-8 School and Riverdale High School
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 50-55 students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with teachers and staff
- Must be able to complete all required fingerprinting and credentialing (Transferable JLA badge accepted if current; support provided through this process)
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing speech and language intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
- Supporting students in developing communication, language, and social skills, adapting to individual needs
- Documenting progress and maintaining accurate records in accordance with school policies
- Collaborating closely with educators, therapists, and families to optimize student outcomes
- Adhering to school district protocols and maintaining a positive, student-focused learning environment
