Pediatric School Speech Pathology | Alexandria, Virginia
This full-time speech-language pathologist opportunity in Alexandria, VA, offers a rewarding school-based setting serving K-12 students. The role starts August 7, 2026, one week prior to the academic session, and continues through June 11, 2027. With a 37.5-hour workweek and a 30-minute unpaid lunch, you will carry a caseload of approximately 55 students, providing therapy and support to help them succeed.
Working within a close-knit, collaborative team of seven fellow SLPs, this position is ideal for early career professionals or new graduates looking for a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate regularly with educators, parents, and other therapists on the team
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
Required Credentials and Experience:
- Valid Virginia license to practice as an SLP or eligibility for licensure
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligibility
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric speech-language pathology and school-based practice
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or currently completing CFY
