School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Wetumpka, Alabama
Make an impact working with elementary and middle school students in a rewarding contract role beginning August 2026 through May 2027. This opportunity is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists who are passionate about educational settings and dedicated to supporting students' speech and language development. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based interventions as part of an onsite team, meeting the needs of a caseload of approximately 60 students—sometimes within one school, and at times supporting two nearby sites. Both Clinical Fellows and those with CCCs are welcome to apply, and supervision responsibilities may be included for those with CCCs.
Qualifications:
- Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license through ASHA for the state of Alabama
- Possession of (or ability to secure) a current Alabama professional educator license—more details available on the state certification website
- Experience or strong interest in school-based SLP work, particularly with elementary and middle school populations
- Willingness or ability to supervise, if CCCs
- Open to candidates seeking Clinical Fellowship (CF) opportunities
- Comfortable managing a caseload of about 60 students
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop treatment plans based on IEPs
- Deliver direct therapy services, both individually and in groups, to elementary and middle school students
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to support student progress
- Maintain timely documentation on assessments, progress notes, and related paperwork
- Travel between one or two local school sites as needed
- For those with CCCs, provide supervision to CFs
