Travel School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - West Springfield, Massachusetts
A specialized opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential services within a supportive, innovative educational program designed for high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences. This role is part of an Extended School Year (ESY) assignment set in Ludlow, MA, offering a chance to positively impact students' independence and communication skills in a uniquely personalized environment.
Location:
- Assignment based in Ludlow, MA, with the main office in West Springfield, MA.
- Travel is required for this role.
Position Details:
- Start Date: July 6, 2026
- End Date: August 7, 2026 (potential extension and consideration for the 2026/2027 school year)
- Hours: 15-20 hours per week, spread over 2-3 days
- Caseload Focus: High school students participating in the Compass High Program, which emphasizes tailored education and skill development outside traditional classroom settings.
- Experience with AAC services is necessary; however, AAC evaluations are not a required responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Certified Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC or relevant school-based licenses in accordance with state requirements.
- Experience working with students diagnosed with ASD or other learning differences.
- Ability to support communication development and independence with a compassionate, student-centered approach.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech and language therapy sessions focusing on AAC support.
- Collaborate with educational staff to implement communication strategies that enhance student engagement.
- Maintain documentation and progress notes compliant with state and program standards.
