Speech Therapist in West Springfield, MA
A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a specialized high school program serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences. This role offers the chance to work in a unique educational environment focused on personalized instruction and skill-building for greater independence.
Location: Ludlow, MA
Assignment Duration: Approximately August 27, 2026 – June 22, 2027 (subject to school year calendar)
Weekly Hours: 32.5
Program: Compass High Program at Ludlow High School, a specialized setting for high school students with ASD and learning differences
Caseload: High school students, with supervision responsibility for an SLPA
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language services tailored to students with ASD and related disabilities
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement effective communication interventions
- Supervise and mentor an SLPA to maximize student support
- Maintain compliance with state educational and licensing requirements
- Participate in program development aimed at enhancing student independence and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with all state-required credentials
- Experience working with high school-aged students, ideally in specialized educational settings
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related learning differences
- Strong collaboration and supervision skills
