Desired Qualifications:
- Valid SLP license for New York State
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in progress
- Previous experience in schools preferred, particularly with non-verbal students
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs
- Dedicated, organized, and responsive in a dynamic learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to a non-verbal student population
- Conduct evaluations, develop, and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Communicate effectively with families, educators, and interdisciplinary team members
- Document student progress and maintain thorough records in accordance with school and legal requirements
- Offer expertise and training on language strategies and AAC for education staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to problem-solving for student support plans
