Now Hiring: Remote School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
We are seeking a compassionate, qualified, and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide virtual speech and language services to students in Virginia during the second half of the 2026–2027 school year.
This fully remote, school-based opportunity is ideal for an SLP who is passionate about helping children and adolescents improve their communication skills, achieve their educational goals, and thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
The selected candidate will provide individualized teletherapy services, conduct speech-language assessments, support students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, and collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.
Previous teletherapy experience is preferred but not required. Qualified candidates who are new to virtual service delivery are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide virtual speech-language evaluations, assessments, and therapy services to PreK–12 students.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans aligned with evaluation results, student needs, and IEP goals.
- Address articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social communication, and other communication needs as appropriate.
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility reviews, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on performance data and individual needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation, including evaluations, treatment notes, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, school administrators, and related service providers.
- Provide strategies and recommendations to support students’ communication skills across educational settings.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal and Virginia state requirements, school district policies, and professional standards.
- Create an engaging, supportive, and student-centered virtual therapy environment.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active, valid Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license or other applicable Virginia authorization required for the assignment.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, subject to the position’s requirements.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in school-based, pediatric, or educational settings preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development, special education procedures, evaluations, and progress monitoring.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based speech-language assessment and intervention practices.
- Previous teletherapy experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication, organization, time-management, and documentation skills.
- Reliable computer or laptop, high-speed internet, and a private workspace suitable for confidential virtual therapy sessions.
