Virtual School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Connecticut
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
• Active Connecticut Speech and Language Pathologist license issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH)
• Active Connecticut Special Services Endorsement: Speech and Language Pathologist (#061) issued by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) (or eligibility)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or teletherapy preferred)
• Experience with Connecticut Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, IEP development, and virtual assessments
• Strong clinical communication, organizational, and time-management skills
• Comfortable using teletherapy platforms, digital diagnostic tools, and interactive online stimuli
Key Responsibilities Assessment & Intervention
• Conduct comprehensive virtual speech and language assessments to diagnose receptive/expressive language, articulation, fluency, pragmatic, and voice disorders
• Develop and implement individualized, student-centered treatment plans aligned with IEP objectives
• Deliver direct telepractice services focused on educational communication goals and monitor student progress
• Collect and analyze objective clinical data to refine intervention strategies and drive goal mastery
Collaboration & PPT Participation
• Collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, related service providers, parents, and school administrators
• Provide actionable classroom accommodation strategies, carryover activities, and consultative support across learning environments
• Participate actively in virtual Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, eligibility determinations, and 504 reviews
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of direct service logs, progress reports, and IEP goal updates via state/district systems (e.g., CT-SEDS)
• Ensure all evaluations and clinical services strictly align with CSDE guidelines, district policies, and IDEA mandates
• Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, eligibility forms, and required state compliance documentation
Technology & Teletherapy Tools
• Utilize secure, interactive teletherapy platforms and digital assessment materials to deliver engaging sessions
• Adapt clinical materials, visual schedules, and instructional stimuli for an effective remote learning setting
• Guide onsite facilitators and families with session connectivity and basic tech troubleshooting
Advocacy & Education
• Guide students in developing self-advocacy skills, functional communication, and AAC implementation where applicable
• Provide educational resources and consultation to school teams and families regarding pediatric speech and language development
