Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
We’re seeking licensed Deaf and hard of Hearing Teacher to provide telehealth services in a school setting. We offer a flexible, independent contractor position for a licensed DHHT looking for a change of pace to support students virtually.
Responsibilities
• Provide services via our secure, industry leading, teletherapy platform
• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide adapting teaching methods to meet students' diverse needs and foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Requirements
Current DHHT (Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher) Certification required
Demonstrated experience teaching high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing
In-depth knowledge of effective instructional strategies and accommodations for students with hearing loss
Strong collaboration and communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet diverse learning needs
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with special education law and compliance
• At least 2 years’ experience in a school setting within the past 5 years – all applicants are still welcome!
• Previous Teletherapy experience – those with no previous teletherapy experience are still welcome!
