We are seeking a highly motivated, independent Virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver high-quality teletherapy services to PreK-12 students across Alaska. This completely remote role gives you the freedom to work from your own home office while making a lasting difference in rural or underserved Alaskan school communities. You will utilize a secure, interactive Tele-practice platform to conduct evaluations, manage student IEPs, and lead engaging therapy session.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Virtual Teletherapy: Conduct live, interactive speech and language therapy sessions via an established telespeech platform.
  • Assessments & Evaluations: Administer, score, and interpret standardized virtual speech assessments.
  • IEP Management: Develop measurable IEP goals, track student progress, and lead or attend virtual IEP meetings with school staff and parents.
  • Compliance: Maintain timely, precise documentation of all services, progress notes, and evaluations in compliance with state regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely alongside on-site school personnel, classroom teachers, and parents to support holistic student success.

Alaska State & School Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an ASHA-accredited university.
  • Certification: Hold the active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • State Licensure: Hold an active, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Alaska Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing.
  • School Certification: Meet Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) requirements, such as a Type C Special Services Certificate with a speech/language pathology endorsement (if mandated by the specific district).
  • Background Check: Ability to pass state fingerprinting and a criminal history background check.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of full clinical experience, with prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred.

Virtual & Technical Requirements

  • Technology: Own a reliable, modern computer (PC or Mac) with a high-speed internet connection
  • Environment: A quiet, private, and HIPAA/FERPA-compliant dedicated workspace free from background noise and interruptions.
  • Tech Comfort: High comfort level navigating video conferencing tools (Zoom Pro, Microsoft Teams, or specialized therapy platforms) and digital evaluation toolkits.
  • Support: Must pass a brief tech screening prior to start; clinical and technical platform training provided.
