Speech-Language Pathologist in Tehachapi, CA
Experience the rewarding impact of supporting students’ communication skills as a School Speech-Language Pathologist within an engaging elementary setting. This contract role is conveniently located near Tehachapi, CA and encompasses a diverse caseload serving TK – 5th grade learners. You’ll work with approximately 60 students, addressing a range of needs from general education to moderate/severe disabilities. Your expertise will make a significant difference as you provide comprehensive speech services—from direct intervention to IEP participation and thorough assessments.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active SLP-CCC certification
- Experience working in school-based settings, preferably across a variety of disability severities
- Comfortable managing a dynamic caseload of about 60 students
- Skilled in delivering direct therapy, conducting assessments/evaluations, and creating meaningful IEPs
- Familiarity with California’s education requirements; possession of a CTC credential is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong collaboration abilities and a genuine passion for supporting student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to students in TK through 5th grade within a general education and mod/severe population
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and review individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress tracking in compliance with school and legal standards
- Offer consultative support to teachers and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
