Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students at a middle school in Tacoma, Washington, for the 2026–2027 school year.
The SLPA will work alongside a virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students. Middle school experience is preferred, but candidates with other school-based experience who are comfortable working with middle school students are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Provide speech and language services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
Support implementation of individualized speech and language treatment plans.
Work with students across a caseload of approximately 35–40 students.
Collect and document student data and progress.
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and the supervising SLP.
Support students' communication and academic participation within the school environment.
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and professional requirements.
Follow treatment plans and recommendations established by the supervising SLP.
Qualifications
Washington State SLPA licensure required.
Must be fingerprinted through OSPI, or be willing to obtain the required OSPI fingerprint clearance.
Middle school experience preferred, but not required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with a virtual supervising SLP.
Experience working with school-age students preferred.
