Pediatric School-Based SLP | Dowagiac, Michigan
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide specialized speech-language pathology services within a dynamic school environment. The position involves delivering both direct and consultative support to a diverse student population from elementary through high school, helping them develop effective communication skills essential for academic success and personal growth.
Location: Dowagiac, MI (School Setting)
Contract Type: Full-year contract, 187 days (prorated for the current school year with the potential to continue for the 2026-2027 school year)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, evaluation, and individualized therapy for students with speech and language disorders.
- Deliver direct therapy sessions and consultative services across grade levels: 38 elementary students, 13 middle school students, and 1 high school student.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other support staff to create effective treatment plans and facilitate student progress.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and conduct regular meetings with relevant stakeholders.
- Support compliance with school and federal regulations relating to special education and speech services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), with eligibility for or holding Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
- Experience working within school settings, particularly with pediatric populations across elementary to high school levels.
- Ability to provide both direct therapy and consultative support.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred or required.
