Extended School Year (ESY) Physical Therapist (PT) School-Based
A school program in the Boston area is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join its team for an Extended School Year (ESY) opportunity. This part-time summer position offers the chance to work with students in a supportive educational setting while helping them maintain and strengthen important functional skills during the summer months.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Physical Therapist looking for a short-term school-based role with a predictable schedule and meaningful student impact. Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy services to students according to IEP goals and service requirements
Complete assessments and monitor student progress related to mobility, motor development, and functional performance
Develop and implement individualized therapy strategies and interventions
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success
Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner
Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with families and staff as needed
Qualifications:
Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy
Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred but not required
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
