Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Sodus, NY
Make a positive difference this summer supporting students in grades K-8 as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This rewarding contract opportunity runs from July 6th to August 14th and is ideal for experienced professionals who hold their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). The position offers flexibility with a schedule of 2-3 days per week, allowing you to enhance your work-life balance. Providing services for ESY (Extended School Year), you’ll work closely with students exhibiting a variety of behavioral needs in a collaborative school setting. Open to remote (VOCO) candidates as well.
What We’re Looking For:
- Active New York SLP license and CCC required
- Prior experience in a school-based environment strongly preferred
- Background working with grades K-8, especially those with behavioral challenges
- Ability to support individualized communication strategies and collaborate with special education teams
- Exceptional communication, organization, and adaptability
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct speech-language assessments and develop tailored intervention plans for K-8 students
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions—either onsite or virtually (VOCO)
- Write clear, timely documentation and progress reports
- Consult with families, teachers, and related service providers to facilitate student success
- Modify treatment approaches to respond to behavioral needs and learning goals
- Support students to achieve functional communication skills throughout the ESY session
