Speech Language Pathologist in Silver Spring, MD
Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist making a lasting impact on students in the vibrant Rockville, MD and Washington DC area. This contract position runs from late August through mid-June, with assignments starting the school year with smaller caseloads that may grow as the year progresses. You’ll provide on-site support across up to two or three schools, primarily serving elementary and middle school-aged students. Assignments will be tailored to your comfort and strengths—our supportive supervisory team ensures a great fit for your skills and preferences.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Maryland SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) strongly preferred; outstanding CFYs considered
- At least 1 year of school-based experience preferred (exceptional references or clinical background considered)
- Ability to pass a House Bill background check
- Submission of license images at application
- Flexibility to travel between assigned schools in the Rockville/Washington DC area
- Experience with varying caseload sizes, with elementary maxing at 40, middle up to 48, and occasional peak caseloads
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to students across designated schools
- Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and educational staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to state and school policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress tracking
- Attend supervision and staff development as required
