School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - San Jose, California
This opportunity is designed for speech-language professionals experienced in school settings, specifically Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs). The assignment spans from now through the end of the current school year, with an option to extend based on mutual fit.
The role is based within K-12 schools located in San Jose, CA, with worksites in nearby Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. Each professional will be assigned to one campus for the entire workday, eliminating the need to travel between locations. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing speech-language therapy services to a caseload of 15-20 students with moderate to severe needs
- Collaborating with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Documenting student progress and maintaining up-to-date therapy records
- Participating in team meetings and parent conferences as needed
Desired qualifications:
- Experience working in a K-12 school environment as an SLP or SLPA
- Familiarity with assessing and treating students with moderate to severe speech and language challenges
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school personnel
- Valid state licensure and certifications appropriate for school-based speech-language services
