School Speech Language Pathologist - Salem, Oregon
Step into a rewarding and impactful role supporting young learners in their communication development. This full-time contract opportunity offers two unique assignments working with children in early intervention settings, both focused on maximizing growth and potential.
You’ll work in person with children aged birth to 3 years old from July 6, 2026, through June 11, 2027, under a 190-day contract. A second opening serves children ages 3 to 5, spanning August 21, 2026, to June 9, 2027, also in a 190-day role. Service locations include the Salem area, as well as Polk and Yamhill counties. Both positions provide the chance to create meaningful progress for young children and collaborate with dedicated education professionals.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from an accredited institution
- Current state licensure as an SLP; school certification preferred
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based settings highly valued
- Deep understanding of early childhood development and communication milestones
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to create individualized treatment plans and document student progress
- Passion for advocacy and support of families and students
- Reliable transportation for itinerant work across multiple sites
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to children ages birth to 5
- Assess speech, language, and communication abilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and family members
- Monitor and report student progress toward communication goals
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development
