Travel Speech Therapist in Rock Hall, MD
This travel position offers a full school year opportunity (2025-2026) in a beautiful waterfront city in Maryland, known for its marinas and boating lifestyle. Enjoy a 1 hour and 45-minute weekend trip to Washington, DC, while working as an itinerant Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for schools in the Rock Hall area. This role requires 37.5 hours per week providing specialized speech and language services to pediatric students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing using standardized tests and clinical observations. Develop accurate diagnoses based on findings.
- Implement evidence-based treatment plans for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Monitor progress and adjust therapies as needed while educating and supporting patients and families.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Maryland state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Current ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
- Strong skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and therapy with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems.
- Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to support pediatric populations in educational settings.
