ProCare Therapy has an opening for a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist on a full-time contract assignment in Richmond, Virginia, for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity allows an SLP to provide essential speech and language services to students across a variety of grade levels, with the potential to focus primarily on elementary-aged students. Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language evaluations, assessments, and therapy services for students in grades K-12 (potentially elementary-focused).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support students’ communication goals.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation according to school and state requirements.
- Support students across multiple school sites as assigned.
- Manage an assigned caseload based on final district needs and student enrollment.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license and appropriate school-based credentials required.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Strong understanding of pediatric speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary educational team.
- Licensing assistance available for qualified candidates needing support with state requirements.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting preferred.
- Experience providing services to students across elementary, middle, and/or high school populations beneficial.
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), evaluations, and educational documentation preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and time-management abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing caseload needs and multiple school environments.
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning and communication needs.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist licensure required.
Work Hours:
- Full-time schedule based on school district hours, 37.5 hours per week
