An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work within a Pre-K through 5th-grade educational setting. This contract position, based in Hampstead, NC, involves providing essential speech and language support to approximately 50 elementary students, ensuring their communication skills develop effectively during these critical early years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in children from Pre-K to 5th grade
- Develop individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's specific needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to special education planning as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Clinical Certification of Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for certification
- Experience in pediatric and school-based speech-language pathology
- Completion or eligibility for a clinical fellowship year (CFY) is acceptable
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques suitable for early childhood and elementary-aged students
- Ability to work independently and as part of an educational team
- Comfort working with children ages Pre-K through 5th grade in elementary school settings
- Willingness to provide direct therapy services without reliance on Speech-Language Pathology Assistants or vocoders
