School Speech and Language Pathologist | Tacoma, Washington
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in developing their speech and language skills in a dynamic school environment near Tacoma, WA. This position offers flexibility for either full-time or part-time engagement for the remainder of the school year, with the schedule running Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, depending on building assignments. Caseload assignments will reflect your expertise and interests and may include elementary, middle, or high school students. After interviews, final caseloads will be determined, with an estimated target caseload of 45 or more students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid WA SLP license with ESA certification
- Open to SLP-CCC and SLP-CFY candidates
- Recent (past 2 years) OSPI fingerprint clearance
- Ability to evaluate and support students with a range of communication needs: receptive/expressive language, articulation, fluency, voice, neuromuscular, and non-vocal disorders
- Passion for working in a school-based, collaborative setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
- Clearly document assessment results and their educational implications
- Design, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with other educational professionals and families to best support each student
- Deliver therapy onsite and monitor student progress
