Oregon Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) are sought for two full-time positions providing specialized student services within school settings in Portland, OR. These roles involve direct assessment, instruction, and support for students with language impairments across diverse educational environments, including a multi-site travel assignment within Multnomah County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess speech, language, and hearing to determine student needs and service levels.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) focused on speech and language goals.
- Implement and oversee augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems tailored to individual students.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive student support.
- Provide coaching and training to staff, parents, and community members on AAC use and speech-language interventions.
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) staff.
- Document services accurately for Medicaid billing and compliance.
- Attend all required meetings and maintain consistent attendance to ensure continuity of services.
- Travel across multiple educational sites within Multnomah County for position two, with flexibility for less than full-time candidates.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Oregon licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
- Experience working in school-based settings with diverse student populations.
- Proficiency with AAC systems and ability to customize interventions.
- Strong communication skills, equity-minded approach, and collaborative spirit.
- Commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance.
Work Schedule and Locations:
- Position 1: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day with an unpaid lunch break, based primarily at a fixed school location.
- Position 2: Full-time or part-time (less than 1.0 FTE considered), involving travel to multiple sites within Multnomah County.
