Speech Language Pathologist in Porterville, CA
Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting young learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an elementary school setting. You’ll work with a manageable group, delivering direct speech and language services to 43 students, while overseeing case management for 22 students. In this pivotal role, you’ll also conduct pending assessments (currently 3) and collaborate with colleagues to create the best educational experience. The contract runs from November 1st to April 1st, with the possibility of an extension.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid California SLP license and credential
- CCCs required, but new graduates completing their CFY are welcome to apply
- Experience or strong interest in school-based settings, especially elementary age groups
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
- Comfort with diverse student populations and a range of communication needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Manage caseload efficiently, ensuring students’ goals are met and progress is tracked
- Conduct assessments, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Engage collaboratively with educators, families, and school staff to support student achievement
- Maintain compliance with all relevant special education laws and guidelines
