School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Pelham, Alabama
Exceptional opportunities are now available for experienced and credentialed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) eager to make a difference within vibrant school communities. These full-time, contract-based roles begin in early August and continue through May, providing a rewarding school-year experience with a diverse caseload of approximately 60 students. Positions are open across three campus sites, all located near Pelham, AL.
Key Qualifications:
- Must possess an active Alabama SLP Certification
- Current SLP Educator Certificate required (eligibility can be confirmed on the Alabama State Department of Education portal)
- Speech-Language Pathologist-CCC or CF credentials
- Previous experience delivering speech/language services in school settings strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and families
- Commitment to inclusive, student-focused practice
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite, evidence-based speech and language therapy to K-12 students
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and develop treatment plans aligned with individual education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and school staff, to support student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Act as a resource for building staff and provide training or workshops as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress reviews

- Three full-time opportunities available:
- Pinson Valley High School (full time, single site)
- McAdory/McCalla Elementary (split 2/3 day assignment)
- Hueytown Middle/Lipscomb Elementary (split 3/2 day assignment)
- All positions are onsite only
- School-year duration with expected hours totaling 37.5 per week
