Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Pearland, Texas
Step into a rewarding role providing speech-language services within a collaborative and supportive school environment. Enjoy working on a contract basis, serving approximately 60 students across a variety of campus programs—including walk-in speech, an ECSE classroom, a school-age self-contained classroom, and an Autism support program. Not all students in each setting receive direct speech services, allowing for a diverse and focused caseload.
This position offers a steady 37.5-hour workweek, all conducted in person, enabling meaningful face-to-face connections with your students and staff. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, aligning with the school calendar; student attendance begins August 19, 2026. You will benefit from the guidance of a mentor SLP and support from both the Lead SLP and an exceptional evaluation team—including an ARD Facilitator, Diagnostician, and School Psychologist. All transfer events and annual speech ARDs are handled by the ARD Facilitator, allowing you to dedicate your expertise to direct therapy and intervention.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Current state licensure/certification as an SLP or eligibility to obtain
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates welcome
- Experience in pediatric and/or school-based settings strongly preferred
- Strong evaluation, therapeutic, and collaboration skills
- Comfort working with diverse student populations, including those in specialized programs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services to eligible students
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Consult and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team for holistic student support
- Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in team meetings
- Communicate progress and strategies with families and staff
