Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist in Newark, NJ
Make a real impact this summer by supporting young learners as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist during our Extended School Year (ESY) session. Located near Newark, NJ, this rewarding contract position runs from June 29 through July 30, Monday to Thursday, 8:30am-12:30pm. You’ll work with a small group of 25 students, mostly preschool age, including children with multiple disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and other special needs in a self-contained setting.
Following the summer session, you’ll have the option to extend your impact and continue in a maternity leave coverage role from September 8 to October 20. In this period, hours will shift to 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP license (or eligibility) in New Jersey
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or strong CFY candidates considered
- Experience or enthusiasm for working in pediatric, school-based, or healthcare SLP settings
- Working knowledge of supporting children with ASD, multiple disabilities, and preschool disabilities is highly valued
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and deliver speech, language, and communication interventions for students ages 3-8
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with special education teachers, occupational therapists, and other professionals to maximize student growth
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state requirements
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all students
