Speech Language Pathologist in Ocean City, MD
Step into a meaningful opportunity as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist working with a dedicated team near Ocean City, MD. The position begins on August 24, 2026, and continues through June 30, 2027, with full-time hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 3:00pm (37 hours weekly). You'll share a caseload of approximately 40-50 students, ranging from PreK3 to 3rd grade, alongside another experienced SLP.
Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Department of Health Certification in Speech-Language Pathology
- Previous experience serving school-aged children preferred, especially in settings supporting mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to various learning styles and developmental needs
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language services for students with identified needs across PreK3 to 3rd grade
- Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, families, and the supporting SLP to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Document student progress, maintain timely records, and participate in IEP and other team meetings
- Administer assessments, interpret results, and make recommendations for ongoing student support
- Offer direct therapy, small group and classroom-based interventions tailored to individual abilities
- Support school staff with resources, strategies, and communication regarding best practices in speech and language development
