Ideal candidates possess:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license for the state
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric and school-based SLP services
- Understanding of IEP process, special education procedures, and best practices for assessment/intervention in schools
- Ability to thrive as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing students for speech, language, and communication needs
- Developing, planning, and implementing individualized therapy sessions based on IEPs
- Collecting and documenting data to report on student progress
- Collaborating with teachers, school staff, and families for comprehensive student support
- Participating in eligibility meetings and annual IEP reviews
- Providing support and guidance to paraprofessionals and teachers regarding communication strategies in the classroom
