Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Newark, NJ
Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) this fall! This contract opportunity begins in September and spans 12 weeks, offering a dynamic experience at the heart of education. You will work onsite in vibrant elementary settings, focusing on students from preschool through 5th grade. Two of these crucial positions serve schools with high Autism and preschool populations, providing specialized care and guidance to these exceptional learners.
Three openings are available—two defined at elementary schools and one at another school to be determined. A commitment of 35+ hours per week ensures you’ll make a consistent, meaningful impact with both colleagues and students.
Key Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey SLP License
- Valid NJ Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CF) welcome with external supervision arranged (district does not provide CF supervision)
- Previous experience with Autism populations, early childhood, and school settings highly preferred
- SLPAs are not eligible
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to preschool and elementary-aged students
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and collaborate in developing IEP goals
- Maintain timely, detailed documentation in line with school and state guidelines
- Partner with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize student progress
- Engage in ongoing consultation to support inclusive classroom strategies and generalization of communication skills
