School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Newark, New Jersey
Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a dynamic school setting near Newark, NJ. This contract opportunity begins Fall 2026, spanning 12 weeks and offering a consistent, full-time schedule of 35+ hours per week. As a valued member of the educational team, you’ll provide vital speech and language services to elementary-aged children, particularly those in preschool and K-5th grades, with a focus on students with autism.
Successful candidates will thrive working onsite across two elementary locations. Flexibility to travel between sites in Sewaren and Iselin is ideal, as you may have assignments at Matthew Jago and Kennedy Park elementary schools, with a third placement to be determined. Your compassionate approach and evidence-based interventions will make a lasting impact on young learners as they develop their communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey SLP License and NJ SLS Certification required
- Clinical fellows (CFs) are welcome; must provide outside supervision (district cannot supply)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) strongly preferred
- Experience or genuine interest in working with preschool and elementary-aged children, especially those with autism
- Ability and willingness to travel between schools as needed
- Onsite work only; remote options not available
- SLPAs are not eligible for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language evaluations and therapy for assigned students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary staff to support individual education plans
- Maintain accurate documentation aligned with school and state standards
- Tailor therapy approaches to address a range of communication disorders and exceptionalities within the student population
