Speech Language Pathologist in Newark, NJ
Step into a rewarding opportunity this fall supporting students in a dynamic school environment near Newark, NJ. Three full-time contract openings are available for talented Speech-Language Pathologists for maternity leave coverage, beginning September 2026 and spanning a 12-week period. Each position offers a chance to make a lasting impact, working 35+ hours per week at the elementary school level.
Ideal candidates will hold the CCC designation, though Clinical Fellows eager to gain school-based experience are encouraged to apply if outside supervision is available. As these placements will not provide on-site supervision, SLPAs and those requiring onsite mentorship cannot be considered.
Key Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey SLP License
- Valid NJ School Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification
- CCC-SLP highly preferred; CF applicants must have access to their own external supervision
- Previous experience with autism spectrum disorders or preschool/elementary populations is advantageous
- Ability to excel in an onsite-only role
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy to K-5 students, including those in preschool and specialized autism programs
- Perform screenings, evaluations, and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment supporting diverse learner needs
