School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Newark, New Jersey
Step into a dynamic school-based setting this fall in the vicinity of Newark, NJ, supporting engaging educational communities with your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist. We’re seeking three full-time SLPs for contract roles covering maternity leave, each offering a uniquely rewarding experience in elementary and preschool populations. Positions start in September 2026 and last 12 weeks, with each role exceeding 35 hours per week and based entirely onsite—delivering essential impact where it matters most.
What we’re looking for:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active NJ SLP License and valid NJ Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) are welcome if external supervision is arranged.
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting, particularly with autism and preschool/pre-K children, is highly valued.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
- Comfortable working onsite; remote and assistant-level positions (SLPA) are not available.
How you’ll make a difference:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to students in early elementary and preschool classrooms, focusing on high-incidence populations including autism spectrum disorders.
- Develop and implement IEPs, track student progress, and maintain detailed documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Work in one of two elementary schools or a third site to be determined in the area, directly supporting young learners’ communication skills.
- Coordinate with teachers, aides, and parents to promote student success and advocate for individualized needs within the classroom.
