School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Newark, New Jersey
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing speech-language therapy services for the upcoming fall! Two Speech-Language Pathologists are needed to cover maternity leaves within elementary school settings, serving diverse student populations with a focus on preschool through 5th-grade, including students on the autism spectrum. Based near Newark, NJ, these roles span two school locations for approximately 12 weeks starting September 2026. Both positions are full-time, onsite, and offer a chance to make a meaningful impact during a crucial point in the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey SLP License
- Valid New Jersey SLS Certification
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required for independent practice; Clinical Fellows (CFs) are welcome if they can provide their own external supervision
- Strong background working with elementary and preschool-aged children, particularly children with autism
- Ability and willingness to travel between two school sites for optimal scheduling flexibility
- SLPAs are not eligible for these positions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy to K-5 students with varied needs
- Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and families to maximize student progress
- Maintain timely documentation and participate in team meetings
- Adapt services to meet individual student goals in inclusive and specialized settings
