School Speech and Language Pathologist | New Britain, Connecticut
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide in-person therapy services within two schools in New Britain, CT. Starting immediately, the assignment runs through June 10, 2025, supporting students from pre-kindergarten through kindergarten. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, totaling 35 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering speech-language therapy addressing areas such as assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language, articulation, voice, oral-motor skills, feeding, and receptive/expressive language development delays
- Conducting diagnostic and evaluation testing as appropriate for student needs
- Writing clear, comprehensive reports based on assessments and observations
- Developing and maintaining Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives
- Collaborating effectively with parents, teachers, and peers to monitor student progress and identify areas needing support
Qualifications for this position require:
- Holding or being eligible for a Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) license and a teaching certificate from the Connecticut Department of Education (DOE)
- Previous school-based experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Flexibility and strong problem-solving abilities
