Pediatric Speech Pathology - Midlothian, VA
Provide specialized speech-language pathology services within a K-12 school setting serving preschool and elementary students. This contract position covers FMLA and maternity leave assignments, requiring flexibility and expertise to manage caseload responsibilities effectively.
Location: Richmond, VA, with service sites across Henrico, Chesterfield, and Glen Allen, Virginia. Position duration runs from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY), including leave coverage from mid-January to March and beginning March or April.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language evaluation and therapy for students aged preschool through elementary levels.
- Manage caseload according to workload expectations, adhering to district guidelines.
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate documentation and utilize the district’s IEP system with provided training.
- Travel as needed between schools within the assigned cities; paid travel time included.
- Provide services with appropriate supervision, ensuring compliance with workload limits.
- Adapt to leave coverage needs including FMLA and maternity leave periods.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with Virginia state credentials.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or current certification (SLP-CCC) preferred.
- Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology, especially within school settings.
- Ability to work itinerantly across multiple school locations.
- Willingness to cover multiple leave periods in a single school year.
- New graduates or those completing CFY considered; SLPA candidates not preferred due to supervision requirements.
Hours & Schedule:
- Full-time assignment, approximately 37.5 hours per week.
