A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in an early childhood educational setting located in Dover, DE. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering speech and language services to children ages 2-5 within early intervention and preschool special education programs. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support young learners facing a range of communication challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, therapists, and families.
  • Provide direct therapy in individual, small group, or classroom-integrated formats.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and support staff to embed speech and language goals into daily curriculum activities.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain comprehensive documentation, and ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning to support student success.
  • Promote inclusive classroom models within early intervention and preschool special education environments.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices in speech-language pathology and early childhood education.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure/certification such as ASHA CCC-SLP, CFY eligible, and/or DE State Department of Education certification as required.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in public schools or early intervention settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, early literacy, play-based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience serving diverse student populations.
  • Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility procedures.
