Essential Qualifications:
- Valid SLP – CCC certification
- Experience in school settings, ideally with middle school students
- Comprehensive understanding of speech and language disorders in children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility to adapt to on-site and possibly remote learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in 6th-grade students
- Create and update IEPs, working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents
- Provide direct therapy sessions—individually or in small groups—to address diverse student needs
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and adjust therapy approaches as necessary
- Offer guidance to teachers and families, helping them support students’ communication goals in the classroom and at home
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
