School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Locust Grove, Virginia
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting K-12 students near Locust Grove, VA. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers the chance to provide vital speech and language services while covering two maternity leaves during the school year. Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply, and placement can be tailored if you have specific age or caseload preferences.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active SLP license in Virginia or ability to obtain
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, though Clinical Fellows (CFs) will also be considered
- Experience working with school-aged children, K-12, is highly desirable
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy to students with a variety of speech and language needs across elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Conduct assessments, evaluate results, and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Consult with teachers, school staff, and families to support student communication goals and generalization of skills
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
- Facilitate IEP meetings as needed during coverage
- Adapt therapy and interventions according to each student’s unique needs
You’ll be covering two maternity leaves: one beginning late December/early January with a return in early March, and a second starting mid-November and extending until spring break at the end of March. Share your caseload preferences, as assignments can be personalized.
