Pediatric School Speech Therapist | Kalamazoo, Michigan
This opportunity is for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) focused on pediatric and school-based services, located in Kalamazoo, MI. The role entails a full-year contract supporting a diverse caseload spanning elementary through high school students. It offers a balanced mix of direct therapy and consultative interventions designed to promote effective communication and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide both direct speech and language therapy and consultative services to a caseload of approximately 52 students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards.
- Utilize skills across pediatric, healthcare, and school settings to address speech and language development needs.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and appropriate licensure for school-based practice.
- Experience working within school and pediatric healthcare environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide both direct therapy and consultative support.
Schedule & Location:
- Full-year contract covering 187 days, prorated according to the remaining school year days with potential continuation into the following school year based on fit.
- Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Position is located in Kalamazoo, MI.
