School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Lapeer, Michigan
Make a real impact supporting young learners in an early childhood educational setting as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist. This onsite opportunity allows you to work closely with a diverse preschool population and deliver essential speech and language services in an engaging, supportive environment. The position starts as soon as possible and runs through June 2027, providing both immediate stability and the chance to watch your students grow over several school years.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Eligibility for (or possession of) state licensure in Michigan
- Previous experience in school settings, specifically with early childhood or preschool age groups
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators and families
- Commitment to working entirely onsite
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students with speech, language, communication, or swallowing disorders
- Deliver direct therapy and consultative supports to children in early childhood/preschool programs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to set and achieve student goals
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Stay informed about evidence-based practices and current methodologies in speech-language pathology
